One of the things we love most about working at 3D Robotics is getting to meet brilliant innovators who are putting our open source technology to new and exciting uses. Today, we met Niels Joubert, a South African native, who is completing his PhD in computer science at Stanford. He is partnering with co-author Mike Roberts under the guidance of Professor Pat Hanrahan on a year-long research project. He and his team will be using 3DR drones as a platform to develop new applications in the area of computational photography.
It’s all very hush-hush, so we can’t tell you more for now, but we’ll be following up with Niels and his talented team as they continue their research project.
